Leather wallets for women

The everyday card holder is ₹ 199 and measures 11 × 8 cm. It has four card slots, two each side, and a centre pocket for a folded note. It fits a small evening bag, a jacket pocket or the slip pocket of a crossbody.

What to look for in a women's leather wallet

• A reliable zip. It should run smoothly round the corners without catching. A leather pull is kinder on nails than a bare metal tab.
• A separate coin pocket. Loose coins scratch cards and stretch the note section.
• Enough card slots. Count your cards today, then add one or two. Too few and you start doubling up, which stretches the slots.
• A size that fits your bags. A long wallet suits totes and handbags. For a very small crossbody, a card holder may be better.
• Real leather. It softens and gains character with use, where coated materials tend to crack along folds.

1. Do you carry coins or many receipts? Choose the zip wallet.
2. Do you carry more than five cards? The zip wallet's eight slots will be more comfortable.
3. Is your everyday bag small? The card holder fits where the zip wallet won't.
4. Do you mostly pay by UPI? The card holder might be all you need.

Which shade

How to look after a coloured leather wallet

Brighter leather needs a slightly gentler routine.

• Keep it away from denim and newsprint when new, as dark dye can rub off onto light leather.
• Wipe marks early with a soft, barely damp cloth. Don't rub hard.
• Keep pens capped inside your bag; ink is the hardest mark to lift.
• Dry it naturally if it gets caught in the rain, never with a hair dryer or in the sun.
• Empty the coin pocket now and then so the zip does not strain.
